Compared to the treatment once they have heartworms... not so much.
We use heartguard for our dog. We can usually find a coupon that cuts the cost down.
I think I spent about a lifetime supply on my Husky getting him treatment for heartworms.
$50 for heartguard plus for a small dog 1-25 pounds for a 12 month supply.
