Does anybody know how the factory would have dealt with a 2.7 engine that self destructed under warranty. What did the dealers/factory do with these engines. I'm thinking a lot of engines self destructed back in the 70's and if your trying to tract down where they may be. Where do you look. Would the engines have been shipped back to Germany and destroyed? Also what would the factory replace a bad engine with? Can't imagine this was handled like the 986/996 cars.
