Those for the 206 were rebuilds? Core charge?

That 206 has over 14K air frame hours. It is a 1965 model that the company bought in 1969.
Yea, we would get a Continental re-manufactured engine right from Continental. The old core of course had to be rebuildable, so no thrown rods but that for sure was not an issue for us. We would have it sitting on the shelf ready to go in for the annual and engine swap. Time was of the essence. That airplane had a factory installed when new, 18 inch hole in the floor to hold a 500 pound camera. We can't just rent some local airplane to use. The core charge was about 5 grand. We got that refund when they received the old engine, and took it apart. Instead of being grounded for two months like a local rebuild, it was two weeks or so to do it all.
Now our camera is just a few pounds, and can mount on most any high wing airplane. Cessna 152 to 172 is ideal. 152s are just so slow to get to the site. A 172 is just ideal for us.
