Matt,

European lights (i.e. H1, H4) have "E" codes. Porsches shipped to the US before around 1990 (??) had lighting that was compliant with USDOT regulations at the time; these "US market" lights did not carry an E code.

My H4's have an E code moulded into the glass lens. I should point out that I installed the H4's about 20 years ago and got rid of the sealed-beam "sugar scoop" headlights. I do not have any E codes on my options sticker; my 911 was built for the US market in 1983

It is possible that the E30 on your sticker refers to "European" lighting on your car or it could refer to some country-specific lighting like West Germany in your case.
