I don't know much about mil-dot scopes. My RWS Diana has a standard 4x crosshair scope and my primary game is fruit rats. I found that the perfect kill shot for these rodents is in the throat when they get up on their haunches for a good look. They just drop like stones. To sight in my scope I simply set targets at three common distances I shoot and practiced until I was dead-on at each range. My kill tally is at about 40 right now and it is rare when I miss. Once they present themselves to the rifle, hitting inside a dime is pretty easy by estimating range.
