I would never try to repair that even if you could no one is gonna have that part you need you would have to cut/destroy a good tank to get that bonded with heat in manufacturing process part out. Just do it right and replace tank with a good one and I would use a 1988 and up plastic tank they are a few gallons larger. The 1 person I saw at the track try to repair one that started slipping in tank because he couldn’t get that strainer out ended up having dripping fuel for weeks before he finally had to do it right.
