Yes, that big boom you heard yesterday was my head exploding. I went to a quarterly sculpture meeting. You generally take something for show and tell. I took a piece I did four years ago but knew nobody had seen it so it would be ok. Nobody ever buys things at these meetings, they all do the same thing and If they liked something they could make it themselves. A woman I have met a few times saw my piece sitting there and asked If I would sell it, super surprised I said yes, and gave her a price, she said, I think I should buy that. But she didn't, another guy I have met around for a year or so saw this, the guy does great work, is in galleries and shows all the time and is well known. He said I really like that, and you would sell it? I said yes, I just told her xx dollars, he said I will buy it. I said why when you could make it yourself, he said I don't look at things that way and I really like it. Cash or check, I have the cash. dayyamm. nobody ever sells at these meetings, ever. This has been in my garage for three years covered up, it's 2' by 2' by 2" so weighs fifty or sixty lbs, I don't carry it around to shows. Now it's gone, my wife said, hey, I really liked that, well she didn't buy it. Ego trip, selling to someone like that. When I got this piece of marble the whole face was natural like the right edge is still. I just had to save some of it.
