Ok, so definitely want a DEF truck. That simplifies things. I could care less about putting in DEF, it's literally a drop in the bucket in terms of total maintenance cost.

And yeah, a turbo/intercooler hose blowing off while towing heavy up a mountain, (only time it ever happens), is a nightmare. Checking those hoses and clamps should be part of a normal pre-check but it's rarely mentioned.
