Early vs Late Steering Column

I am working on an early to late dash swap in my 944. I need to put in a late ignition cylinder and mount, possibly even the whole steering column. In the early columns, there is a bearing mounted into the ignition cylinder assembly that centers the steering shaft in the column and supports this end (picture below). What does the late car use? If I removed the early ignition assembly, I was hoping maybe there is a bushing from a late car I could install? Otherwise, I will plan to obtain the whole column. It's just a pain with my LS3 and hydroboost brake system to remove the bolt holding the intermediate shaft, and I was hoping to avoid messing with the shear bolts.

Thanks!
