5 years ago, we built a 104'x60' pole barn for a non-insulated, horse riding arena/stalls that has the trusses 14' off the floor/ground. We spent a total of about $40K on buying it, having it delivered (in pieces on the back of a semi trailer), and for some help in erecting it (local construction contractor who helped with the trusses, and skinning the roof.

I would say there is no reason in having the trusses more than 12' off the ground unless you were thinking of a walkable storage loft (about 5' high just under the trusses on our 14' height).
