P-38 A Personal Story

I watched a good Youtube video on the Spitfire in the same evening, but the personal accounts and stories in the P38 Lighting video were just so involving so I'm posting this one.
This video does not go into the canceled British order without the superchargers, and only touches on the cold weather issues experienced in Germany. Oddly enough the P-38 served in the Aleutian Islands under some terrible cold weather conditions. The pilot interviewed said 2/3rds of his class didn't make it to the end, almost all of the losses were due to the weather (cold/storms and fog).
I've heard of the Charles Lindbergh fuel saving techniques before but this video explains the upping of boost and lowering of RPM's aspect a little better, and the consequences of attempting to operate in that mode on a strafing run with fuel tanks attached.
