Do 997.1 based Turbo Carreras seem cheap?
I've been noticing that the 997.1 based Turbos (cabriolet) are frequently selling for the low $60's (asking prices), often on cars with under or around 50k miles. A heavily modified one recently sold on eBay for $45k. I believe these cars retailed for around $160k new, so that seems like a bargain to me. Am I missing something? Of course the non-turbo 911 of these years has an IMS, but it's my understanding that the Turbo of this era employs the Metzler engine, which is immune to IMS issues, is this not correct? Are there other mechanical issues with these cars that might account for the low prices?
