Let's start the thread off in style - with everyone's favourite plant....bamboo!
This pic from a project of mine, taken a little over a year after planting, using
Bambusa textilis 'Gracilis' - aka Graceful Bamboo used as a screen & backdrop for this client's backyard. The plants underneath are
Microsorum diversifolium - aka Kangaroo Fern.
If you do a little research you'll find there are certain bamboo varieties that work really well in the landscape.
This particular variety maintains a fairly compact foot print and tends to have a nice vertical growth habit making it ideal for smaller planting locations.
