This was when we lived in Arkansas on Lake Hamilton and we were allowed to put a pump in the lake for irrigation of our lawns, plants and trees. I planted quite a few Dwarf Japanese Maples but they didn't stay dwarf very long. The lake was filled with fish and all the fish poop in the lake was like super liquid fertilizer! Everything grew. Nothing ever died. I swear I could stare at the grass and see it grow!!

My wife started feeding kibble dog food to the fish off of our boat dock and every morning there would be 10 or 12 huge catfish circling with their mouths open waiting for her serve breakfast!
