Thanks for the detailed and informative reply. It was not pressure washed, just carefully degreased. The cover you mention is also darker in color. I believe it’s magnesium. I will likely pop the diff out again to wash off with brake clean and take better pictures. I plan to post on eBay next but wanted to offer it here first.
