That's what I have been hearing and if they are better than OEM for less it sounds like a better deal than the stock stuff. I have to say the OEM have less initial bite, but then increase in bite with no additional pressure as they get a little heat.
The truck Napa pads have great initial bite and they remain the same without adjusting pressure. The Napa pads are the most expensive for the car so they are out of the running but they are a good comparison to what I want. I am sure the Hawk pads will perform as well or better.
On a side note, the OEM brakes on the Cobra transferred pad material in a semi liquid state onto the rotors coming down a mountain pass one day. I swore I would never have a failure like that again on any of my cars, hence my asking. Running downhill with rear brakes only was "interesting".
