Glad you got it back, and I don't mean to sound overly critical, but what I'm curious to understand is why you/others leave keys in the car/hanging on garage walls, etc. A good friend had his loaded off-road Jeep ($60-70K vehicle) stolen from his garage in WA state - someone broke in, saw keys hanging on the wall, and drove away with it. It was found but basically destroyed - $5k in parts was all that was salvaged.
Being out of sight likely means nothing to a thief - if he has broken into a garage, he is going to sift through consoles/glove boxes/etc.
My keys are nowhere near my cars.
