There are plenty of project cars out there; it's the nice complete ones that hold value and sell fast at the moment.
The average-priced project car can be had at any time and most buyers are now aware that any 911 is a ~$50k 911 (start with $10k project car, put $40 into it and so forth..) and rather start with something more complete or solid.
And when it comes to 912's, it appears as though every last one has been pulled from the fields and offered sale right now. No shortage of rusty 912's for sale atm.
