The wind is causing my cottonwood to shed small limbs. Pepper loves to go chew on them and carry them around the yard like she killed it or something.
When we lived at the house with the orchard my first Golden, Penny used to help me pile up the limbs I trimmed off the fruit trees. When it came to breaking them down into smaller lengths and stuffing them into the trash can, she would help gnawing them into shorter pieces as well. She sure was a smart dog, I miss her.
Penny would have put Glen out of business diggin holes for his boss's wife. Just had to point and say "dig" then "that's enough" when it was deep enough. And amazing enough the dirt was right beside the hole like you had dug it, and not scattered like you would expect a dog to do.
Had what looked like a piece of concrete float up in our back yard. Had Pepper dig it up. Ended up having to help her because it was a huge 4 ft diameter chunk of concrete and what looked like the stub end of a pole used for a clothes line. Pulled it out of the hole with the lawn tractor. Didn't really know what to do with it, so...Had Penny dig the hole 3 ft deeper (she loved it) then pushed it back in the hole. Then Penny and I re-buried it. It took 30 years for it to float up maybe it will take another 30 before it shows up again.
