Spent that long waiting in the DMV in Austin with a friend. He had to jump thru several hoops because he let his driver's license expire then waited so long he had to retake all the tests and show them a burp certificate. He had to go thru a barrage of four people. One to show his identity, one for a written test, one for driving test, and one to pay and actually get license.

It was kind of interesting for the first 30 minutes. Then it was exhausting. After about an hour of us just sitting there I made the comment "At least they ought to make one of those monitors a TV." and got applauded. Too bad the monitors were each the queue for a different group. It was like an elevator or something, everyone was afraid to talk.
