Sooo. after selling my 930 I have been a little depressed, being an average smuck doesn't sit with me to well. In an effort to cheer me up a friend has rather generously given me a tidy 98 Boxter.

He knew I rebuilt and upgraded my 930 engine and he was looking for a good home for his car. The little Boxter has an intermix problem (aha I always thought adding water cooling was a bad idea).

Anyhow the price is right (free), I can get a used 2.5L engine to swap into it for a couple of thousand, it would be running in a week or two. I would only be down the cost of the new engine.

Any suggestions on the engine swap? It has a M96.20

If I get a used engine what are the Must Do items before installing it.. IMS? ECU?

While I like the idea of a 3.4L I have to stick with a delivered configuration like 2.5, 2.7 or 3.2.
