Rear Clunking sound
Hi,
I have a 2000 328ci and I am experiencing a clunking noise in the rear of my car whenever I accelerate normally and also when I ease off on the gas. If I am driving 20-30 mph in the city and I let off the gas, I hear a clunk. When I accelerate normally, I hear a clunk. If I try to accelerate very slowly, I can get by without hearing the noise. I have heard that there is a known issue where the transmission output flange can be replaced using the below kit. Not sure which is the good part number now. 24 21 7 515 388 24 21 7 568 563 Can you please help me confirm if this will fix my issue? If so, I figure I can also replace the guibo as well. Are there any other parts that might benefit from being changed as well if this is the issue? Thanks Albert |

Might want a quick under car inspection to confirm it is not an issue with the subframe. The E46s also had a few of these tear out and finding it sooner rather than later would be good.
