I am doing the front wheel bearings on my 2011 328i xdrive and when I pulled out the original bearing, the inside of the bearing looks like the outside (non-magnetic) side of the new bearing and is not magnetic... It is black and you can see the outline of the seal backing on it... the new bearing magnetic side is an orangish color... everything I have seen says the magnetic side of the bearing has to be on the inside, so am I getting too hung up on the appearance of the bearing compared to the original one, or does it matter since the speed sensor lines up with the axle flange?
