I am working on my E90 and was hoping for some help. Every time I tighten down the hex bolts on the clutch plate, the diaphragm springs compress in. The go so far in the lock plate just falls loose. I have taken everything apart and redone it several times but it just does not work, it's almost like the disk is to thick and when the clutch is installed the springs go so far in that the throw out bearing would not be able to compress them any more.
This is my first clutch and flywheel job so I may have made a dumb mistake, but I checked the part number, LUK W0133-1833036 for the 07 328i. I also installed the disk backwards the first time so I have corrected that...but i don't think I damaged anything that would be causing my current problem. The new flywheel look identical so that should not be the issue. I am at a loss. New to the forum so not sure how to post an image of the clutch installed but I will give it a try:
