I have a 2002 M3, As lowering top, rear lid open but no all the way causing top to hit the 2 lid support towers that support lid when down, with a lil pull up on lid, operation resumes. As top fold into boot and lid come down, right side pushes lid down as should and left side pushes up causing lid to twist. with a little messing around I can get to come down and latch. Acts the same way putting top up. No flashing light. Top does go a lil slow as it first starts, Fluid is full,

Sounds like the gas struts that assist the lid are faulty. If you give it a little help, is it OK?
