Hi Nick, your info is always top notch!! I bought a 2009 E92 about 2 years ago, and have never had to add coolant: I do check periodically but car sits most of the time. Anyway, the light came on and I confirmed the reservoir was low. Since I didn't do the last service, I don't know what type of coolant it currently has, and I bought pentofrost blue per a friend who has owned 8 BmWs. Do I need to be afraid of adding this without knowing if someone added DEX or something in the past?

What color is the coolant in your vehicle?

I will note, if you have leak and the level is low, put in any coolant you can find, then have it flushed once repaired.
