Bmw overcharging

Hi. I have a 2008 E90 325i coupe. The battery ran dead and i replaced. The replacement was faulty and bmw gave me a nother new one. Now, the car starts but comes up with alot of errors!!!! I tested the charge to the batter when the car is idling, and it charges ove 17volts. Is this normal or is this over charge causing all the errors on the car? Must the new battery be registered on the car?

You need to register the new battery, that's why it's being overcharged. Check out the link below for a helpful guide. Best of luck!
