BMW Roundel E39 Amplifier

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Subject is 2000 528i Sports Wagon. Search produced no conclusive information. All signs point to the amplifier which has been removed from car. A picture is attached.

My question...Is it necessary to match hardware type and frequency?

Mechanic at dealership tells me this is "plug and play"...any additional information would be greatly appreciated. I will attempt to open this later and is it possible to repair for reasonable cost?

Hello - are you wanting to repair the current unit and use for a stock setup or are you fixing the amp to use with an aftermarket product?
