Nice E30 325is
The time has come to part with my 1987 E30 325is 5-speed. This has been my daily driver, but I just bought a 540i because I wanted something a little larger and more powerful that can keep up with the moms in their Kia minivans a little better. I also have 3 Porsches and a Ford truck, so I need the space more than I need this E30, so it’s time to move it along to someone else. I'm asking $4500.
![]() More pictures here: E30 pictures by Rrrockhound - Photobucket It has 190,000 miles. I have receipts on this car going all the way back to 1987. Recent service (since May 2010) includes the timing belt, water pump, steering rack, exhaust after the cat, blower motor, and many smaller items. I had it repainted last year (2010) because most of the original paint was beyond hope. The new paint is not show-car quality but it does look good. The odometer gear, which is a typical failure item at this level of mileage (and a pain to replace) has also been done. I have driven this car from Ohio to Florida and back without incident and wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere at a moment’s notice. All the electrical and electronic toys work, except for the alarm that’s supposed to go off when you fail to enter the correct ignition code (which nobody uses anyway) and the interior lights that are supposed to come on when you lift the outside door handle. Sometimes the power antenna sticks on the way down. All the lights work, and all the lights that are supposed to go out after you start the engine, do go out. The A/C is R-134, blows cold, and has had about $1000 worth of work since 2010. I have 2 sets of original wheels, one of which has good snow tires on it. The other set got new all season tires last fall, which still have plenty of tread. It starts and runs perfectly, with no driveability issues and a nice, steady idle. The dash is perfect, with no cracks. The only interior issue is worn upholstery on the front seats. If you’re like me and never carry passengers, then the front passenger seat will last forever in its current state. A perfectionist will want to re-do the driver’s seat. The carpet and mats are clean. I have replaced the hydraulic shocks in the driver’s seat. H&R springs and Bilstein shocks were installed several years ago. Upgrades consist of M3 control arm bushings, Homelink, H4 low beams, keyless entry, and an aftermarket stereo and speakers. I still have the original audio parts. The head bolt upgrade was done some years ago. Other than the above, the car is stock. There is no rust that I know of, although of course I can’t guarantee that some little reddish speck might not pop up here or there from time to time. The bodywork is very straight, with a handful of very – I mean very—minor dings.
