K13S exhaust on K12S
Despite this forum being more or less dead..
Today I replaced my OE exhaust on the K12S with the exhaust of the K13S. Looks much better than the stock howitzer in my opinion, and it is a cheap upgrade. I just wanted a cleaner look, not noise. ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to cut down the heat shield by about 1.5", but I was able to make it fit pretty nicely. Sound is way deeper and really aggressive rumbling on idle (a bit Akrapovic like) and a little bit louder, but gets closer to stock as rpms rise. Not a bad combination to me. Oh, and it is about 10lbs less weight over stock.

I like it - I'm glad to see you have the same seat problems as me - the large gap between the seat & the rear seat panel. I thought I was the only K around with that issue.

TM, I asked this question last year when I heard that you can remove the rear tire with the K13S can still on.....but never got an answer if the can swap was even possible. But now I know!
Is it true? Is there space to remove the rear wheel leaving the can on? I like my Remus but it is a bit loud even with the baffle in. I also assume the bike runs fine....right?

No way you are going to be able to remove the wheel with the K13 can. You will need to undo the hanger on the rear peg to turn it out for the wheel to clear. On the K12 you only have about half an inch clearance between the can and the tire. This is more than enough and no need for concern, but it is not sufficient to remove the wheel.
Bike runs fine, and jumps in the rpms. BUT, due to the *****e weather here I have not had the chance to ride it yet. I'll let you know when I finally can take her out again.

Rear removal without messing with the can is the main reason I got the Remus. So I thought maybe the K13S can was smaller in diameter. Oh well.
Glad she runs well.

It is definitely not small in diameter...
![]() ![]() It's just a lot shorter.
