R1100S Clutch/brake reservoir finish

Does anyone know what the OEM finish is on the handlebar mount fluid reservoirs? My clutch side has apparently been damaged by weeping fluid (PO) and I'd like to get it restored...or at least touched-up.



It would seem like a good place for black anodized...but from the damage, I now suspect it's some kind of paint (?).

pick up a clean one from ebay they were used on lots of bmw's

Mine was the same and decided to take down to the metal with scotch-brite.

Did mine in rattle can satin black. So far so good.
