Roger.... 2 things

a couple of things...

can you provide me with some parameters for what prompts you to delete posts/entire threads. I'm not trying to make your job more difficult... merely to make the sun shine just a little brighter in what is normally sort of a dim drab place. So... if you just tell me what I'm not supposed to, I will follow these guidelines moving forward.

I've run into a little problem with my r90 project. In getting the header pipe off on one side, I've damaged the threading on the cylinder. I'm not sure what to do. I've been told you can rethread it with the right tool... what are your thoughts? I'll post some pics in a minute.

Appauling!

If you can't file theminto shape with a steep triangulated file, then what they do is weld and rethread.
If you look in your BMWMOA mag (you are a member aren't you?) there are shops out there that specialize in such.
That would mean pulling the jugs,er, (Ha! I said JUGS...) top end apart...

OR you could get a quart of JB WEld and GLue them headers on for good!

By the way shan, those are the WORST pics you've EVER posted...can't even SEEE the threads! What, did you take the JohnnyRR Trade School of Digital Photography short course?

Maybe you was just up-set...

OK, rapid, you got me on that one. I don't know if I was really stoned that night, moved just as I snapped the pix or if it's my camera; Fuji Finepix 4900, 4megapixel, analog & digital zoom (but apparently NOT a macro option). Some of those closeups were great, some sucked...oh well, ya get what you apy for. BTW, did you read my HID evaluation with.....pictures of both hid lo, hi and lo/hi w/ driving lights?

some how it slipped by...but I found it.
I'm wondering if it'd still be worth to get just the HID low or high.
which would you get if ya got just one?

If it were me, just as I said in the eval post, I'd get both...people NOTICE you with an HID lo beam. Having said that, I LOVE the hi-beam too; anything over 35mph or so on a dark night, I click into hibeam, and the HID hibeam thru our S lens is a sizzler....objects completely dark are now lit up 3000ft down the road. If it were me and I could only get 1, probl'y the hi beam. I was a real skeptic about them, but I'm convinced. save the money forn an induct and filter and buy the lights.....it's only money, though, like I keep saying. die broke..it's easier on the executor of your estate.....

Hmmm...I was thinking of ust the low for now due to fundage limitations, can always do theother later, but was figuring low beam because it's on all the time...but hell, if I want to be seen or really see, I use the high anyhow....good points JR.

I know it's hard to justify $400.00 for a couple of little bulbs and ballasts, but the results are really worth it, in my opinion (and yes, shannon, we hijacked this thread *grin*)...there is NO mod that will increase you nighttime comfort as much as this one, in my opinion. Last year, coming back from Laguna, me and a riding buddy left monterey about 4:30, just as the last race was finishing. we rode up to tahoe, and the last 2 hours were in the dark. After 4 days in the blinding cali sunlight behind dark sunglasses, my night vision sucked; I couldn't see squat, even with that (pathetic) PIAA 100W 'super white' hi beam. I almost tossed it into the river on one corner cause I couldn't see...man, HID's would have been the ticket that night. Get 'em. you won't regret it..
