Article about Bob's BMW in NYT
Quite a coup for a small shop to get this kind of coverage. (You may need to regsiter with the NYT to view it.)

Ah yes, can't wait to read the comments coming in on this one. I wonder how many ex-Bob's employees check this forum...
Definitely a coup for Bob to make the Times though. But only if he makes NPR will I believe he's famous. |

I would have thought that Max BMW would be selling more parts that Bob's. Max's fiche and exceptionally consistent service, as well as their ability to deliver are renowned around here as the standard by which dealers should be measured. They never f'up. Never.
Here's a question for those beyond Rt. 128 "belt" that is around Boston, (The Center of the Universe): Max BMW advertises heavily in the MOA magazine - usually at least one full page. Does Max advertise beyond the northeast? Do you see their advertisements in CA or UT, or is this regionalized? |

Dark Side of the Force...

I would also have to drink the"cool-aid" about MAX. I know they are the dominant service-dealership in the NE. I also believe they have expanded both dealerships in NH, and in NY with another being built closer to NYC.
They are offer a lot of extras to their customers and also to the general public. Whether it be organized rides, free catered education classes, parties, track-days, drive-through service, free pick-up/drop-off in just about through-out NE. They are truly a one stop shop. Although I did not get a fancy key-ring when I had bought my "K" bike. Bob does have it spot-on though about his business plan. I would pay a premium on motorcycles to get better service, and to get a better sense of a "trust-worthy" relationship. Anybody can sell a product (Motorcycle), it's really what happens after the transaction that makes you feel truly satisfied.

Truthfully, though I have seen posts on other BMW m/c forums stating get parts nos. from Max's site, and then order at Chicago BMW's site because the latter offers a 20% discount. I have done this myself a few times. Bob's showing up at Rallies however, is the best personal touch a dealer can make. Just talking to them you can learn stuff, and what else do they have to do there?
