Anyone here own this bike? I bought it new at Mortons 7/99, and sometimes I think i would like it back.

Did you try scouring the Micapeak registry? They have all the bikes registered there by vin No.

It is still in Micapeak with me as the owner (Oct 27, 1999).

Try something like talking to your friendly neighborhood BMW dealer. Maybe they can look up the bike and tell you if it exists still. Although they may not give you any information, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Mine's earlier (50271) but I wouldn't have sold it anyway, not for twice what I bought it for. (mine wasn't on mikapeak but would have been the second oldest.)

Thanks guys. The bike was originally at Gina's in Iowa; then it was shipped to Mortons in Virginia where I bought it; I sold it to a guy in Arkansas; and he re-sold it to someone in Denver, name and address unknown. I saw some salvage parts off a black '99 on ebay the other day and asked the seller about the vin, but I never heard back.

The bike was black, had a nice Staintune exhaust, and a canisterectomy. Not a scratch when it left my possession.

Hope to get it back in one piece someday.

What's that, your first post as S1000RR responding to your EluxT self?

Why not send a blurb to the magazines of whatever clubs you belong to and spread the net a bit wider?
