Daytona 09 Schedule
Just a heads up for all of you headed down (or up) for some racing (or whatever other kind of) action..........are you all aware that the schedule has changed drastically this year? Road racing finals are Friday afternoon and night (the 200 is a night race!!) and the motocross is Saturday afternoon and night. I had to retool my hotel reservations!!

The Daytona schedule and entry list(s) are available at http://www.amaproracing.com/news.cfm?cid=20458&rr=no
Nothing says "thursday afternoon" like a Superbike race. As far as I can tell, the only race that's being shown at all by Speed is the 200 (minibike race as Mladin refered to it). Looks like no coverage at all on Thursday and 8 hrs of live Nascar practice on Friday interupted by the 200. http://www.speedtv.com/schedule/filter/date/2009-3-6 |

BMW is not supporting it anymore... another one of those brilliant decisions of the masterminds in charge!

Ian Drysdale (Australian V-8 sport bike manufacturer, a regular at the Dakar, and crew member from the Jonas Street bike team that at one point ran second overall) posted the following on The Chassis List (a motorcycle chassis list e-mail forum at http://www.eurospares.com) : "...the VW race team budget was reputedly US$100 million. Think 17 support cars, 4 support trucks, 2 race trucks and over 60 people to support 3 race cars ( or was it 4 ? ). They had a doctor, a physio and even a lawyer ( for writing protests ). " Suppose that had anything to do with where their budget went?
