Chewie,
the shop knows their maybe an issue with the hp2s.
So they wanted me to order one just in case the hp2 is given back and cann't be fixed.
I'll then get this bike, but if the hp2 works out they will keep it.
I look at it as insurance.

I was under the impression the price would be 15,500 euros. That is a lot of dollars. I will be thrilled if it's anywhere near $15K. Acid Green, please.

The rumor, and I stress "rumor" that I heard was that because of the value of the dollar (low) BMW is lowering the cost to US market in order to keep the price more in line with the target market. Word is $14,600 base price with options taking it as high as 18ish.

BMW Roundel

I ordered the Motorrad colors.

From a couple of e-mails:

We are pre-ordering your S1000R for intended November production and

December delivery.

See the website below for the latest official BMW info.

www.bmwplanetpower.com

Actual pricing has not been announced.

An edumacated guess would be base pricing under $14k or $13,990 plus $495 destination plus options and handling.

4 Colors
Thunder Gray
Mineral Silver
Mineral Silver and Thunder Grey come with Ostra Gray swingarm and wheels
Acid Green
Motorsports Colors - Red/Whit/Blue Tri Color, likely an additional $695 like on the K1300S and possibly delayed introduction
Acid Green and Motorsport come with a silver swingarm and gloss black wheels
Black frame with all colors

Options
Race ABS - $1,000 ish
Traction Control - $500 ish likely only available on ABS bikes
Gear Shift Assist - $400 ish

I've spoken to many of you and have your preferences and questions, like c

an you get the traction control without the ABS and will the Red/White/Blue Tri-Color be delayed.

Contact me ASAP to assure the best chance of getting your preferences

Chris,

I ordered your Alpine White/Lupin Blue/Magma Red S1000RR today.

I selected Gear Shift Assist, did not select the Alarm and

wasn't allowed to choose the Race ABS w/DTC (abs with traction Control) which

we assume we will be able to add in later.

The ordering process hinges on an accurate email address so please reply
to confirm your email.

And come by and sign your Planet Power Pre-Sale
Reservation form.

We have inquiries to BMW regarding when we can modify the order for the

Race ABS w/DTC and whether the tri-color will delay your order.

The Ohlin forks etc. I heard were mucho expensive. What's that option called? I'm guessing with all of the options it's going to be well over 20,000 bucks. Any thoughts?

The bike is fantastic in person and light, light, light.

The S1000RR will be under $14K as C Dolan posted above very well equipped BTW.

I sat on both the new Aprilla V4 and the S1000RR, the Beemer will be a much more comfortable ride.

So if I could get what I wanted it'd amount to:
Bike in Thunder Grey - $13,990 + 495 = $14,485
ABS, DTC, Shift Assist - $1900
MSRP = $16, 385
7% Sales tax in Georgia - $1146.95

Out The Door - $17,531.95 (about what I paid for my R12S)

So.....wait a year or so and let any problems shake out, and when BMW Atlanta has a few of 'em sitting on the floor that they're willing to give preachers discounts on.....SPRING.

Serious congrats, mad otter. This Saturday morning I hope to ride out to Lansing to partake in the 1st annual "Michigan BMW Demo Days" sponsored by the three BMW dealers in my state. A new S1000RR, as well as Nate Kern, are promised to be there. I'll see if I can take some sub-standard photos with my phone.

A real Pelican would have a real camera and take some super-standard photos.

nah, a real pelican would have a super-camera, yet still take sub-standard photos.

some of us are closer to helen keller than ansel adams when it comes to taking good pictures.

Won't be able to...that is the weekend that my GF's parents are coming to visit from Arizona. It will be the first time I have met them on my "turf" so I better be in attendance if you know what I mean.
My dad is not doing well (lives in Morro Bay) so I do plan to come down every few weeks to check in on him. Perhaps we can get together for a ride and a brew? I will let you know ahead of time when I will be in the area. Otherwise, have a great time with everyone and be sure to tell them that Marcella and I would love to be doing a 2-up performance demo...LOL
