I replaced mine with a maintenance free Yuasa that has been working fine. However, I lost the receipt. The local Honda shop had it in stock though and cross-referenced it through their system....a fairly common battery and about half the cost of a new bonafide BMW battery.

Type is PC535 NOT 545. Fits perfectly.

I ordered mine from Motorworks (UK). Funny thing is that they replied by asking to explicitly confirm my order - see below...

....

Sorry we are not sure if PC535 will fit the R1200S, are you sure you want to try? We cannot refund the postage if it does not fit, I will leave the order on hold until you get back to us.

Best wishes
Motorworks

Yes I know the dimension differences...but since the PC535 fits perfectly into that tray...(And I haven't modified it, he he). Besides M-TEC/Wunderlich offer type 535 as well.

It's like the Godzilla thing > bigger is better (size does matter)

he he

Okay, are you guys saying that BOTH the 545 and the 535 will fit ? Isnt the 545 just a wee bit hotter cranking power ?

If the 535 will fit, why not the PC 625 ? The 625 is the same dimensions as the 535 except just a wee-bit taller , by about 3/4 inch. The 625 is even hotter than the 545.

Well...true (but count some free play required to put the thing in place) but in my case the free space is full with some weird relay (operates a custom SPAL oil cooler fan) AND that **** RapidSomething thing.

In any case go to a shop and try the 625 (bigger always is better, he he).

Yeah, I gotta go out and look at mine. Maybe that increased height of the PC 625 would be okay.

The correct battery is a PC 535,the 545 is what goes in the 1100s that comes without heated grips,PC 680 with heated grips, although you can run the bike on either,a completely separate thread!!.

When the PC 535, the poles are reversed.
The German wiring harness is in the series to end up too short on the pole

Found the receipt. I replaced mine with a Yuasa PUYTX14-BS. Description says "Battery-maintenance free.69 Liter". Cost was $95.95.
FWIW. Now back to our regularly scheduled technical battery discussion.

Thanks for this. But now, I am more confused on this subject than when I started reading this thread.

Does the US wiring harness reach for the reversed poles of the PC535?

I may need a battery soon for my R1200S. I want an Odyssey battery and I need to know which one is correct.

I also know a local Batteries Plus has the PC535 because weeks ago I called for one, but my battery is still good (enough). I did not ask if they had or can get a PC545, but I'd bet they could.

Thanks for any enlightenment anyone can provide regarding the US model R1200S.

Yes, and Im curious still about the PC625.

I would think the US wiring harness is the same as the German but maybe not. Attaching an extension would be no problem.

The question is whether the increased height of the 625 would be a problem. Lol, I need to go pull my seat and take a look.

I don't think mine could take the height increase of the 625. The Code Check module is mounted there, right above the battery.

I thought is was the PC 535 for US models as the positive terminal is located to the right front.
Cheers
