Man, I almost forgot about that beer opener cap! LOL

For me tonight it was a couple of Silver City Ridgetop Red Ales. Nice to have a great micro brewery just down the road!

One of the reasons I bought these larger footpegs was because they have a bottle opener on the bottom.

I can't drink beer because the purine in it gives me gout. Anyone know of a beer that won't do that?
Thanks.

OUCH!!!! Had a bout with Gout 25 years ago, pain was worse then a broken Femur, or Tibial plateau! Luckily it never flared up again.

It would suck if it came back and curtailed my love of dark beers.

What are you doing in NJ? Did I approve this?

That said the list of bad actors is seafood, beer, but I don't recall meat. ???

Yes it is painful. I went to the ER for a bad bout.....got a shot which fixed it.

Let me tell you about gout!

Last year I went on a total high protein seafood diet, tuna, sardines, salmon. Lot's of sardines -- I actually became somewhat addicted (in olive oil, really good)... Plus the occasional mojito... Everything else didn't matter. I also had yogurt, apples, bananas, salads... Well... It only took about five months before I woke up in terrible pain in my feet. Excruciating pain like 100,000 hot needles! Richard is right, it's the worst pain you will ever experience. You can't touch your feet, a sheet can't touch your feet... they are so sensitive.. It flares up overnight, then you have it for 1-2 weeks as it subsides... Little evil uric acid crystals worm their way into every joint...

Turns out, if you have a proclivity toward gout the following will set it off, high purines... sardines, canned tuna, scallops, herring, beer, turkey, goose, sugary drinks, asparagus, spinach... etc. etc...

Wine is OK though...

After I quit the sardines (and mojitos) it gradually went away. Haven't had a bout since...

And that's your bar talk Cliff Clavin expertise for the day!

Now, back to your drinking!

I'd love to get a gig as "that guy that gives really cool names to beers and (in CO, at least) to different strains of maryjane."

Here is a really strange brew "Not you fathers Root BEER", yes a beer that smells just like root beer, and tastes very much like a root beer.

Wife even threw a scoop of vanilla ice cream in one for a beer float.

Really not as bad as it sounds, if you like root beer.
