Question traces of oil in air filter compartment

Has anyone notices traces of oil down at the bottom of the air filter compartment ? Essentially at the bottom corner, right under the battery. No visible leak from the battery. After mopping it with napkins, perhaps half a teaspoon of "what-ever-oil" was found.

Why is there oil in the air filter compartment ?

A "trace" is certainly normal. They have a drain for this.

Yep, make sure it's not overfilled. There are drains on both sides of the airbox. Remove the rubber plugs and flush out the airbox. PO on my bike overfilled, soaked airfilter and bike would barely idle.

Yeah, I drilled a second hole in my air box and ran the hose (from the breaher) straight through the box and at an upward slope to another filter on my Airhead and never had any issues again.
