I think the attraction of a HP4 would be to just feel for once even, the power of a bike that has a Dry weight to Peak Horsepower ratio of 1.93............or basically this new BMW has but 1 brake horsepower to carry each 1.93 pounds of weight. Easily the lowest such ratio ever offered on a motorcycle for sale to the public. Think about it..............you know you want to ride one, even if just once. Thoughts?

I have been tempted to ride one so many times when visiting San Jose......but too many Cops and too much congestion too much traffic. Now if the chance to ride one up here....I'd be on it in a heart beat.

It is a bit like PC or Audio "POWER" ... you can measure up differently and gain massive "advantages in figures", but once you play favorite tune or ride a bike- how you fell that counts!
Saying so, that ridden more urge having bikes, though love the way r11s goes/looks and nothing is going change that |

Roger, you have never ridden a bike with a 1.93 ratio, and don't really need to. I, like Dean, and most others on this forum, would love to swing a leg over one........if the roads were right. Surely you would like to take one out for a "let's see" ride. Enjoy your suspension business niche and local racing hobby while you are still almost young, and teach your children to ride with you.

Lol. I've ridden an S1000. Very Japanese.
Don't worry about the high power-to-weight ratio. The bike has all kind of electronic features to keep you from using all that power. You really can't safely lay-down an unencumbered 200 hp on that light of a bike on public pavement. Rear wheel will break loose or front wheel will point to the stars. Get one if you like it. Not knocking it. The bike rides better than you'd expect. It's very tractable. Some may think it's the modern image of the future. Just not my cup of tea. |
