I understand this, but to me the solution is a stiffer crank not more lube.

There appears to be an old guy innuendo in there somewhere

Yeah, too bad the motorcycles just can't take a little blue pill to increase performance!

It's all about the missing 3d bearing of the crankshaft - not a matter of a stiffer crankshaft itself.

Upto 160HP the increased oil-lube helps and apparently the engine runs stable. Beyond 160 HP the engine can't take the power any more and the result is broken camshafts. Thus a certain Rika is working on the 3d bearing.

That's the whole secret. Certainly the more the engine is being stretched to the limits the more one has to do to prevent failure.

These informations/findings are not coming from fralind but from user Rika back here in Germany (as Jeff might know).

Thanks for clearing this up...totally makes sense. Its amazing to me what goes on inside of a engine! I worked on jet engines years ago, including build up...reciprocating engines are much busier and more fascinating.

Be safe,
Lane

Well the money is on it's way to Kurt and Klaus, so next week I should have my big bore kit.

I got the pistons, rods, rings, bearings and gasket kit. I'll get the barrell's bored and treated locally. I've also got a remus header pipe and a slipper clutch coming.
Still looking for a new diff with a 3.0 ratio and the back half of the exhaust, I like this one but it's been discontinued.

With regards to the exhaust the best system available for the HP2S is Akrapovic. But it means big $$$

When getting the barrels bored locally chose a company with a very good reputation. Especially for the coating (nikasil or similar).

Cheers

Agreed have someone in mind, Akrapovic here are 6k and they are ugly, so no chance for me I'd rather spend 4k on BST wheels

Congrats Rob! I assume that we will have the same rods but your pistons will be a larger diameter than the set I just received. Here are a few pictures of the 1216cc big bore components for my R1200$.

It is hard to believe that it took almost 3 weeks for this stuff to be shipped and clear customs. I ordered an exhaust and chin fairing from Ilmburger a little over 2 years ago did not remember it taking that long to arrive.

It should not take 3 weeks. I just received a new GPR exhaust for my GS Monday and it shipped last Wednesday from Milan, Italy, then to Lizpg Germnay to Cincinnati Oh. for customs and then to Charlotte. This was DHL

Nice looking parts BTW....good luck with the mod.

Thanks!

Yeah, not sure why UPS took so long with my Wossner goodies.

A few months back I ordered a Blue\White\Black Shoei GT-Air Regalia helmet from a store in the UK and it was received in like 3-4 days.

I absolutely love my GT-Air by the way. It is the most comfortable helmet that I have ever pulled onto my bean. No pressure points whatsoever, I could wear this helmet all day long with no pain.

Nice looking goodies there. Did you get bearings in the kit, I did ask for them to be included but not sure if standard issue for the kit
