R12S came through with alternative F/D 2:75. Early R12RT & ST came through with 2:62. Later R12RT ,2010-13 including the R12RTW use 2:75. 2 cents from tjs.

Hi there,

what is not clear to me is why you want to change the final drive of your r12s if you just need bags ... There are bags available for the r12s:

However if you think these are not suitable and you want other bags it is not a matter of the final drive but of the rear frame. But if you implement the rear frame of another model some serious mods are required (including moving the exhaust ...

those are not bags.
they're storage units with a bike parked inbetween.

yes I would like cases that hold more than my gloves, and cost a fortune,
however the not the gs cases, I wonder if the r1100s rear subframe would fit.

Hi Brent,

12 parts do not fit on 11 models and vice versa. If you have the 12S I suggest you get the bags for that model. Adapting another rear frame/drive train/exhaust will cost you much more $$$.

As said, being able to mount other bags/cases is not a matter of a different final drive but a matter of the rear frame. Good luck with this ...

Motech Speedpack system is on my xmas list for the R1200S if I don't sell it at the end of the season. I've been looking in Europe and the UK for bags they pop up there all the time but still insanely expensive.
