My battery went bad in 06 X5, has 245,000 miles ,replaced with new one and now only turns over but won't start. Fuel pump has 10 something volts to it. It ha been replaced before I owned it, it doesn't have the factory hose clamp. Tried to take out sender unit but broke it in a few places. It has original hose clamp on top and trying to get it off, broke nipple off. Then pulling up sender unit trying to unhook parts, i broke them. Can the vehicle still run without a sender unit?

Hey not sure if this helps but I had a similar no start condition and found the first fuse in the engine bay fuse box blown. Turns out it is likely a failed oil level sensor. I replaced it and all good so far.
If you do find a blown fuse you may want to try replacing the fuse and see if it starts. If so it may blow again soon. If so maybe try unplugging the sensor and see if it starts (not sure as I did not try this I just replaced the sensor) Hope this helps! |
