2002 3.2 engine swap - auto into manual car

Hi All,
Was unable to find on forum
I have a 2002 3.2 S and need to replace. Car is manual.
Is an 3.2 from a automatic a straight swap using my engine harness?
Any other issues to consider with the swap?
thanks
Rick

Yes the engines are the same, I have a upgraded rebuilt engine for sale if you want to increase power.

Thanks for offer. Budget gets me a used engine.
BTW... if you don't mind, will a 3.2 from 2000 or 2001 go in without modification??
Thanks
Rick

Yes, 2000,2001 & 2002 are nearly identical.

Are you doing the swap yourself? I did mine last winter and it was quite an adventure. You want a replacement engine 00 to 02. I went the opposite direction, put a manual in my automatic car. It requires swapping the complete engine harness and capping off a vacuum line--the automatic uses a vacuum operated water valve.

You get it all apart and look at that jungle of wiring sitting on the garage floor and it sinks in "What have I gotten myself in to?" It's a puzzle but you can visualize where things go. The secret on the harness is to make sure you have no spare connectors when you're done.

It's a learning experience--what took me a couple of weeks to do, I could probably get done in just a few (3 or 4) days.
