Only if the fault that caused it is fixed first, and that scanner is even able to see it.

First

try to get it scanned for free. Some auto parts stores will let you borrow theirs or do it for you. Or maybe you have a friend who has a generic OBD2 scanner. Nothing unique about the connection to a Porsche.

Then do a search on that code here in the forum as after these many years, you aren't liable to have a unique one.

Better is find someone with a PST2, PIWIS or Durametric that will scan for you as they will pick up some proprietary codes that a simple scanner won't.

Best, take it to a Porsche mechanic. They will have one of these tools and can interpret the code for you and tell you what their approach to fixing it will cost you.

Don't ignore the cause of the CEL. Get it fixed. It could save your car or your life.

Good luck.

i have a scanner for years, and wasn't sure it would work,as it would not with my Audi.
now that i
'm home from my Fla, trip I will check it out,
Car ran great, rode smooth, and was comfortable on the two six hour drives. That alone is good .

I had the codes pulled; p1126 o2 sensor too rich for cyl.4 to 6 or at its limit.
p1133 ox sensor adaptation bank 2 above limit.
according to the carfax when I got the car, it had an O2 sensor replaced.
as to the non ethanol gas cure...is there premium ethanol free gas anywhere, I see top tier ethanol
here.but it says regular.

P1126 indicates bank 2 is running lean, probably an intake air leak. P1133 Your DME can not make the mixture rich enough (it sees too much air).
