Engine swap

I'm swapping out a '97 2.5 /manual with a'99 2.5 auto. and looking for info on what changes need to be done to the '99 motor for a successful swap.
Thanks.

Are you saying you are adding the auto trans too? or saying the engine you want to install currently has an auto trans but you are swapping just the engine into your manual transaxle car?

the replacement engine was coupled to an auto transaxle, and I now want to couple that to a manual transaxle. sorry about the confusion.

No worries, Everything from your original engine should transfer over. Set the two side by side, take photos before starting and take your time. The clutch and flywheel will transfer. I would get a new pilot bearing and clutch kit. I just purchased one from Pelican They had the best price over Amazon, Ebay and a couple other sites I checked.

Yep, I did get the clutch kit from Pelican. Any vacuum lines or electrical connections that are of concern?

Wish I had more first hand knowledge. I'm a 914 guy. I am converting my 928 powered 914 to a Boxster transaxle. That is why I visited this forum. I was asking questions also. I haven't worked on a Boxster. My advise was general knowledge from years of working on allot of different projects. But here's an interesting thought. Since it seems there are very few guys or gals here with a working knowledge of the cars you could be one of the future experts to help out the next guy or gal that posts about the topic. Have the best day!
