cars discontinued
Porsche is stopping production of
Boxster and cayman cars. What will this do to the used values? I think they'll go up, maybe a lot. Idk. its possible though, and they say new EVs will replace them,But Taycan resales are not so strong..I guess they know what the are doing,,maybe.

I doubt they know what will make financial sense given the chaos in the market. EVs cost more than their equivalent ICE versions and add the tariff expense and what will happen to the customer's appetite at the new price point?
All the kids I see are in trucks and hemi's of some sort. Haven't seen a recent Boxster/Cayman in a good while. |

I will never part with my 911, 912 or Boxster. But I have to say that at the end of last year, we bought a Macan EV and absolutely love it. If it was my only Porsche, I wouldn't appreciate it as much. And I've driven the Taycan and not loved it because my mind wants to believe it is a Porsche sports car, but its size betrays it. But for the Macan, the EV platform is amazing.
I don't think anyone is making a "light, toss-able" sports car that is EV. But then few cars are like that now. Because of how much we like the Macan, I have a more open mind and I'm willing to try an EV Boxster. But, I don't have high hopes. And with the changes currently going on in DC, I don't think we'll see it as soon. |

Never say never, I had my 911sc "love affair 27 years", then out of the blue for a very healthy guy, had a stroke, which took away my ability to use a manual trans, so I opted to sell.
Got a 2000 986S tip which works well to satisfy my jonesing for P c ar, but now I'm considering a 996 or caymam.Life changes. The market for used Boxsters is ok here in GA. and I have a friend who will likely buy it at less than the Hagertys value.I feel it might go up some ,in say 10 years, but I dont know how long I have, I'm 76 now.
