Rubber in the oil filter and variocam actuators offline.

Good morning everyone, I'll quickly explain the situation:
I bought a 2000 Boxster S with 98,000 km (61,000 miles). The first thing I did was change the oil and open the filter to see if there were any metal parts, thinking it was the IMS. Instead, I found dark green rubber shavings.
I've done some research and I'm 99% sure they're O-rings in the variocam actuators on the heads.

In a few days, I'm leaving for a Boxster trip that will take me between St. Moritz and Tuscany.
The actuator without the O-ring doesn't seem to work, and it's probably lowering my engine oil flow and pressure since it's no longer sealed.

Now, the crazy question:

Has anyone ever tried disconnecting the actuator from the wiring harness so the ECU doesn't open it?
Question 2: Do you think the ECU will go into recovery mode and I'll switch from a sports engine to a tractor engine?

This way I can temporarily circumvent the problem before disassembling the engine this winter.

I apologize for the very imaginative way of addressing this problem, which might make enthusiasts shudder. I've owned several kit cars and have learned that some problems can be circumvented.
For the moment,

Thank you for the help!!
I don't have find this thread before!

If the user have utilised his boxster for 8 years before the "bits event" probably oil pressure don't drops too much low.

😃👍

If I remember right the CEL code on my 2001 Boxster base was 1333. Had bright green rubber parts in the oil filter. I sold it as is and got a Miata. I still miss that sweet 2.7 litre engine.

There's a specific term used to define the Miata boys... but I won't be too harsh on you since you're already aware that you've made a big mistake.
