Contact Switch Handbrake Lever for Warning Light
I have 1998 Boxster. The hand brake / emergency brake is working well. The brake light on the dash works only some times. This also effects the convertable top operation.
Where is the hand brake contact switch located? Any suggestions? |

Need to remove the center console to replace the switch which is on the hand brake lever.

I am beginning to believe that all the electrical parts on the Boxter are made by LUCAS. I only set my brake to move the top and it has already gone bad.

The switch is ~ $10.
I replace them by pulling the side cover, moving the seat out of the way and using picks/long pliers to fish it in with out pulling the console. Thats the flat-rate way of doing it. The right way for anyone not familiar is to pull the console. Time consuming, but much easier when you don't know what is inside to be able to see what you are doing. |
