97 boxster won't start
Still won't start after fresh battery. If I can find a way to get to the clutch switch I'm going to check it. Where is the starter relay and the ECU located? Have some weird things going on with the central locking system, intermittently will not let the left window go down the 1/2 inch to seal. Could the central locking be connect to the start relay somehow? As always many thanks for the help.

Has the car got a factory alarm system, do you have a factory remote type key?
Has this car got wet underneath the driver's seat? You could also have the not-that-uncommon ignition switch failure.

thanks for the reply,
no factory alarm, no wet seat. What's the best way to troubleshoot the ignition switch. |

If the key action feels "weird" then the ignition switch is faulty. It can get to the stage of being able to remove the key with the engine running.
There may be other problems, best thing is to have the vehicle checked on a PST2 or Piwis tester as you can spend many happy hours " guessing" and not finding the fault(s).

If it was they key, did you not try your spare key?
